In short
- Touri is a guide for exploring cities on foot, with audio stories and a stamp passport.
- You must be at least 13 to create an account.
- Purchases are charged by Apple or Google, and refunds are requested from them.
- While you walk, your safety comes first: watch the traffic, not the screen.
- The AI guide can make mistakes and is not professional advice.
- You can stop using Touri and delete your account at any time.
Accepting these terms
These terms govern the use of the Touri app and the touri.global website. Touri is a product of THE PANAMA INSIDERS HOLDINGS, S.A. (trade name: The Panama Insider), a company domiciled in the Republic of Panama. In these terms, “we” means that company and “you” means the person using Touri.
By downloading, opening or using Touri, or by creating an account, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service. How we handle your personal data is explained separately in the privacy policy, which is part of these rules.
What Touri is
Touri is a pocket guide for discovering cities on foot. As you explore an area, you get:
- Walking tours with a map and the route to each stop.
- Audio stories that open at each place.
- A stamp passport: you earn a stop’s stamp when you get there.
- Challenges, experience and levels that grow as you explore.
- An AI guide you can ask questions about the area.
The first destination is Panama City’s Casco Antiguo. More cities will follow, with no dates promised: what is available at any time is what the app shows.
Minimum age
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Touri account. When you create it we ask for your date of birth to check this; if you are under that age, the account is not created. Without an account you can still use the part of Touri that does not need one.
If you are a minor under the laws of your country, use Touri with the permission of a parent or guardian, especially before making a purchase.
Your account
You can explore Touri without an account, with access to some of the free stories and your progress saved only on your phone. To open the rest, save your progress, buy or use the AI guide, you need an account.
- You sign in with your email (we send you a code to confirm it is yours) or, where available, with your Google account.
- The information you give us must be true, and the email must be one you can access.
- Your account is personal. You are responsible for what is done with it and for keeping access to your email and phone safe. If you think someone got into your account, write to soporte@touri.global.
In-app purchases
There are free stories and passes that open more content for an area, a city or a country. Before you buy you will see what each pass opens, and the store shows you the price before you confirm payment.
- The store charges you. Purchases are made with your App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google) account and are also governed by that store’s terms. We never see or store your card. The store sets the price in your currency, with whatever taxes apply in your country.
- What a pass opens. A pass opens, for your account, the paid stories within the scope it states (area, city or country). Some stories, such as the legendary ones, only open with the pass that includes them (legendary stories, with the Country Pass); the app tells you which one.
- You need an account to buy: that way the purchase is saved and you can get it back on another phone with “Restore purchases”.
- Refunds. They are requested from Apple or Google, depending on where you bought, and follow each store’s rules. We cannot return a payment we did not collect. If the store refunds a purchase, the content it opened is locked again.
- A purchase can take a few minutes to be confirmed. If you paid and the content does not open, write to us.
None of this limits any rights consumer protection law gives you.
Safety while walking
Touri is used while walking down the street, and that comes with rules that matter more than any story:
- Watch the traffic, not the screen. Cross where you should, obey traffic lights and stop to read or check the map. If you wear headphones, keep the volume low enough to hear what is going on around you.
- Respect private property. A place appearing in Touri does not give you permission to enter it. Do not go into homes, courtyards, construction sites or closed areas.
- Opening hours and access. Churches, museums, squares and shops have their own hours, rules and, sometimes, an entry fee. Respect them.
- Walking routes and times are a help, not a guarantee: streets change (works, closures, events). Use your judgment and follow the authorities’ instructions.
Touri does not guarantee that a place is open, accessible or safe at any given time. You decide where and when you walk.
The AI guide
The guide answers questions about the area you are exploring. To use it you need an account and to accept it before your first question. It has a limited number of questions per day.
- Answers are generated by a machine and can be wrong or incomplete. Check them if you are going to make a decision based on them.
- It is not professional advice: it is not medical, legal, financial or safety advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency services.
- Do not include personal data in your questions. If an answer is wrong, report it from the app.
Content and intellectual property
The texts, stories, audio, illustrations, the Touri brand and its mascot, and the design of the app and the website belong to THE PANAMA INSIDERS HOLDINGS, S.A. or are used under license from their owners. We allow you to use them only within Touri and for your personal, non-commercial use.
Some photos belong to third parties (for example, from Wikimedia Commons) and are used under their licenses, which may require crediting the author. That is why the app shows the author and license next to those photos; they remain the property of their authors.
You can share from the app whatever it lets you share, such as your passport or your postcards.
What is not allowed
When using Touri you agree not to:
- Copy, bulk-download, scrape or redistribute the content (stories, audio, texts, images), or offer it outside Touri.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, or get around its access or purchase controls.
- Use bots, scripts or other automated means against the app, the website or their servers, or overload them.
- Use the AI guide for anything other than asking about the area, try to make it break its rules, or send it illegal or offensive content or other people’s data.
- Use Touri to harass, deceive or harm other people, or for anything illegal.
- Abuse the website form or the reports.
If these rules are not followed, we may limit or suspend access to the account or the service.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Touri running well, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. There may be interruptions for maintenance or because of provider or connection failures. Part of the app works offline if you downloaded the area beforehand.
Touri will change: we may add, improve, move or remove tours, stories and features. If a change significantly affects something you bought, we will tell you.
Limits of our liability
Touri is a guide for enjoying a city, and it is offered as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for harm that results from how and where you choose to walk, the condition of streets and places, or what third parties do.
- We are not liable for the content or operation of third-party services (the stores, the maps, the guide’s providers), which have their own terms.
- We are not liable for indirect losses, such as a plan that did not work out.
None of this excludes liability that the law does not allow to be excluded, or your rights as a consumer.
Termination
You can stop using Touri whenever you want. You can also delete your account from the app; here is how to do it. Deleting it erases your progress, your stamps and the purchases recorded on it, and it cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not refund or cancel purchases: that is requested from the store.
We may suspend or close an account if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, or if the law requires it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Panama. If a disagreement arises, write to us first and let’s try to resolve it. If that is not possible, it will be submitted to the courts of Panama City, without prejudice to any rights consumer protection law gives you.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will publish the new version here with its date. If the change is significant, we will also let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using Touri after the change, you accept the new version.
